Immunizations in Harford County, MD
What Do We Think About Vaccines?
For any medical intervention, Towson Pediatrics providers carefully consider the medical literature, the pros and cons of any care we offer, and how to best advance the health and well-being of your child and family.
We strongly endorse and follow the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines for immunizing children and adolescents. The vaccines have been proven to be effective in preventing significant illness, hospitalization, and disability. Though there is always the chance of a vaccine reaction, major complications are very unusual. Whenever we offer a vaccine, you will receive a vaccine information sheet informing you about the vaccine and what to expect.
We are also happy to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about vaccines (or any recommendations we make regarding your child/family). We want to make sure you have the right information to make informed and appropriate decisions.
To protect your family and the families of all Towson Pediatrics patients and employees, we require vaccination against all significant preventable diseases in our practice. For information about these vaccines and the diseases they protect against, please visit http://www2.aap.org/immunization/.
For detailed informational sheets published by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) please visit http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/hcp/vis/current-vis.html.
